During my recent trip to Kalimantan my pastor brought me to an alley where a special grilled fish can be found. Even though the place is rather dirty and shabby but the grilled fish is one of the best I ever tasted! It is first marinated in curry sauce, then it is grilled over fire to perfection. The result? A smooth, tender and juicy fish with curry taste even till it's bones! Yummy!
The place is called Ikan Bakar Menara, near the Market.

Yummy fish. Sorry, camera out of focus. Need better camera.The food are so good that many find it very hard to fast during the Ramadan month. A quick sneaky snap shows the restaurant are full with Muslims!!!

oh the fish looks delicious! add a dollop of yoghurt or cream cheese, and you are on your way to bliss!
The grilling station looks OK lah, as long as other ingredients (eg: cockroaches) don't fall in and get grilled as well). BUt I am suspecting the drinks station...
Hahaha...yes it is delicious. The whole place is actually rather dark & dim, which explains my out of focus pics on the fish. It is pretty stuffy as well but the taste of the fish worth all the 'suffering'.
