Choy Ki Chicken Rice Review

Along the Rahang Road there is a long standing chicken rice stall that has been operating for many years and it has gathered itself a large customer base. The shop is located just in front of Mercedez Benz outlet. I decided to try out this Choy KI Restaurant for this review.

(Choy Ki Restaurant)

This shop mainly sells chicken rice. It has a few workers manning it's daily operations and it has quite a comfortable and clean space to have your lunch. It even has a few nice looking fish in a aquarium on display at the dining area.

(I smell something fishy here.....)

I ordered chicken with roasted pork rice (siew yuk kai fan). My orders came within 10mins. It's considered slow given how many workers they have here. But anyway I proceeded with my lunch.

(workers busy handling orders)

The rice tasted ok, but for the chicken it tasted rather bland. It is not roasted, rather it is deep fried till it's rather dry. But the roasted pork is cripsy, and the tasted is acceptable to me. It's comes with a soup, and the soup tastes so so to me,

(my orders)

Conclusion.
I don't understand why this is always packed but I guess it's customers has been patronizing this shop for many years so much so it's have becomes their favorite. I would choose Mong Kok chicken rice anytime than here. However, if you still would like to try this place, I would suggest that you skip the chicken and go for the pork instead. As for the price, my orders set me back for RM 4.80 and I find it rather expensive for a place like this. I would stay far from this restaurant till next year....
