I am feeling pretty frustrated now. I am frustrated with our current line up of MP's. First it was an 'close one eye' on the logging issue, then the same MP ranting about he couldn't get the Mercedes SLK series that he wanted and citing the rest of the Mercedes offered to him was junk (the general public just drive normal sedans here) and now here is a new issue that makes me fuming over.
I just finish watching TV3 Nightline news where they highlighted a DAP MP complaining the state of the cleanliness of AirAsia airline. She complained that ther were flies in the aircraft. Well, this is a small issue to me and I think that she ran out of ideas of what to bring out in the Bench meeting and she just rants this out.
But other Barisan MP's began to debate and even critised AirAsia for hitting out that the Government for allowing MAS to take back some of the domestic routes WITH subsidies of RM1Bil injected to it. Well, I don't think Air Asia were hitting at the Government but just wanted to present the issue that the Government is not allowing a fair competition between MAS and AirAsia when MAS is subsidies while AirAsia is not.
The other MP's begin to hit at Asia for false advertising. He said that he couldn't get the RM10 fares that was advertised by AirAsia citing that it always sold out and has to be bought in advance. Others complained that food and drink sold in the aircraft were priced exorbitantly.
I am pretty frustrated with the level of knowledge of our elected MP's. They should read up the Air Asia website on why and how the low fares ticketing works first before they open their big folly mouth. The low fares system follows the qouta system. There more the particular flight is filled up the more expensive the fares are. So in order to get a cheap fare one should buy their tickets early before anyone else.
Another way of keeping the airfares low is buy discouraging food on board. No food = no messy spill in aircraft = less time to clean up for the next flight = quicker turnaround time at the airport = more flights achievable in a day's aircraft parking fee = lower fares for consumer. That's why the food are expensive on board you dummy. Want it cheap? Go and tapau your own nasi lemak breakfast before you board the flight.
Not long ago AirAsia advertised that they were giving away 2 milliion tickets of free flight. Many of my friends got the free ticket as advertised and has since flown to many beautiful place in this country. I didn't get any tickets because I wasn't free this year to go to anywhere for holidays. And since Air Asia started it's first flight, I have flown to Kuching several times with tickets costs less than RM150 (one trip). Where else can I get such low fares in Malaysia? MAS? It used to cost me easily RM600 for a return flight. Wanna take a bus to Terengganu and swim to Kuching from there? Hey even that would cost you more than RM150 if that you could ever make it thru the South China Sea.
I remember not long ago our dear PM said that the Government will not bail any company out when the company is in trouble? Mr. Tony Fernandez (AirAsia CEO) is right. Why 'subsiding' the loss making MAS airline? If MAS is the top airline in the world, why it still need Government assistance just to compete with AirAsia which is offering much lower fares? If the Government is striving toward fairness in it's administration, where is the fairness in this issue?
Please dear MP's, I beg you to do your thorough research before you open your folly mouth again and make the whole world laugh at us. There are a lot of hardworking MP's out there, and the whole Malaysia MP's image are marred by a few people's stupidity.
And as for Mr. Tony Fernandez, a big THANK YOU for making every Malaysian able to fly and keep up the good work. As for me and others who loved Air Asia, you can count on us at your back.
