The statement above is no exaggeration. I have been told that Sandakan food is the 'Penang' of East Malaysia and I find that the claim was true.
Our host was kind enough to drive us to Sandakan, a 1.5 hours drive from Telupid - just to treat us a good seafood dinner. He brought us to Ocean King Seafood Restaurant.

What makes Sandakan seafood so special? It's they way they prepare and cook the dish. While we can still get fresh seafood in W. Malaysia, the dishes here taste VERY VERY GOOD. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them.

We ordered prawns, fish, shellfish, squids, sweet sour crabs, everything is good. The taste is so good I am bringing my parents here for holiday next year!

And the total bill is about RM240 for the six of us. A very reasonably priced but spectacular meal for the six of us. Ocean King I will come back again!
