There’s one chicken rice shop that I visit quite often during my lunch hours is Mong Kok Restaurant. It’s located at Rahang Kecil and it’s just the opposite of the Rahang Jamek Mosque.
It’s very near to my office and the chicken rice taste is quite nice too, however, unlike my dad’s roasted ones, the chicken is deep fried.
Chicken rice are usually served with ‘yau fan’ or oily rice, cucumber, any soup of the days and of course sour chili sauce.
This is the inside view of the restaurant. It’s basicly a small house with a few tables and a tv showing some chinese soap opera at the back. The restaurant also serves wan tan mee but don’t waste time on that. I find the wan tan mee was so so only. Go for the chicken rice or the char siew (sweet roasted pork) rice. They also serves Bak Kut Teh here but you have to come to try it and to judge it for yourselves. Their ice milo drink and ice coffee taste pretty nice too. It’s hard for me to find a restaurant that can do Ice coffee that is thick enough to my liking. Most restaurant here in Seremban serves coffee as if there is an acute shortage of coffee powder in this country.
A plate of chicken rice used to cost RM3.30 (USD 0.90) but due to the chicken flu their business were affected and they lowered back their prices to RM3.00. A plate of chicken rice, a cup of iced coffee for a total of RM4.50 (USD 1.40), do enjoy your lunch here!
